SKI & SNOWBOARD FREERIDE FESTIVAL

Snow, friends, and
a challenge that never ends.

Bonz Cup is a freeride festival where skiers and snowboarders ride together.

About Bonz Cup

“I truly love freeride.
I want to protect this culture and grow it, together with everyone.”

Bonz Cup was born from that wish of its founder: a competition created to spread freeride.
At Kamoidake International Ski Area in Hokkaido, riders from junior high age to adults, skiers and snowboarders alike, share one session. No clock, no set form. Just the pure fun of playing on the mountain.

Three Reasons

Three reasons people love Bonz Cup

01

SKI × SNOWBOARD!
One passionate community,
no divide between the two

The fun of freeride does not depend on your gear. At Bonz Cup, skiers and snowboarders express their own style on the same slope. From the Young division (junior and senior high school) to the Open division (18 and over), a warm community has grown where riders respect each other's riding. With the vision of "making the future smile through snow," it is a stage where anyone can be the star.

02

Rough conditions, no problem.
The crew and friends'
freeride spirit

What makes Bonz Cup special is the energy of the crew that builds it. At one past event a cold snap turned the course into solid ice. The crew went back to where Bonz began, the question of how to enjoy a rough slope, picked up shovels, reshaped the jumps by hand and saw the event through. Whatever the mountain throws at us, we get through it together and turn it into the best playground there is. That is the freeride spirit, for real.

03

Built to make you push
A purpose-built course and
the backing of the brands

The stage is the training slope at Kamoidake International Ski Area, about 400 m long. Around ten jump points are spread across the course, so the line changes with each rider's imagination. Kamoidake's digger team joins us to build the course together. Snow-sports brands sponsor the event and back the riders who go for it.

TSUKASA HOME Bonz Cup

Saturday, March 7, 2026 / Kamoidake International Ski Area

This year the corn snow from the day before froze solid overnight in the cold and wind. With the crew's help we chopped up the landings with shovels to soften them, remembered the rough slopes we had ridden before, and decided to go ahead with the event.

Bonz crew Shun Hirayama

Founder of Bonz Cup

Not everything went to plan. There were cancellations and bad weather. But on the day, with the support of friends, we brought the event home safely.

I truly love freeride. I want to go beyond the line between ski and snowboard, and make the future smile through snow.

I hope to keep protecting this culture and growing it, together with all of you.

Shun Hirayama (Bonz crew)
